Krea Pricing in 2026: Plans, Units and the Real Cost per Image

How much does Krea cost? The short answer: four self-serve plans from $0 to $105/month billed monthly, or $5–$63/month on annual billing, with business and enterprise tiers above those for teams. But Krea prices in "units" rather than images, and its pricing page opens showing annual rates — so the number you budget is often not the number you pay. Here is the full breakdown, checked against Krea's live pricing page, with the math that turns units into a cost per image. (Disclosure: we build Hermosso, which competes with Krea — so every figure here comes from Krea's own pricing page, and where a comparison is relevant we link it.)

The plans at a glance

  • Free — $0. 100 units per day, roughly one Nano Banana 2 image a day. No commercial license.
  • Basic — $9/month monthly, or $5/month billed annually. 5,000 units per month, about 64 Nano Banana 2 generations. Commercial license included.
  • Pro — $35/month monthly, or $21/month billed annually. 20,000 units per month, about 257 generations. Flagged "most popular".
  • Max — $105/month monthly, or $63/month billed annually. 60,000 units per month, about 771 generations, with a units slider above and below the default step.

Above Max sit business and enterprise tiers aimed at teams; if that's you, read our enterprise AI photo generation page first — custom volume pricing is exactly the model that category sells.

The price you see first is the annual price

Krea's pricing page loads with the Yearly side of the toggle already selected. The four prices on screen at first load — $0, $5, $21 and $63 — are per-month rates when you pay for a year upfront. Three of them sit next to a struck-through number ($9, $35 and $105): that struck-through figure is the real month-to-month price. If you budget from the first screen you see, you under-budget Pro by $14 a month — $168 a year.

The "Save 40% on yearly plans" banner is close to accurate: Pro and Max come out at exactly 40% off, and Basic at 44.4% ($9 to $5). Either way, the discount is real but it locks you into a year. For comparison, Hermosso's yearly billing simply gives you 3 months free — and monthly billing stays month-to-month with no lock-in.

What is a "unit" actually worth?

Krea prices in units and translates them on each plan card: 5,000 units is "64 Nano Banana 2 generations", 20,000 is "257", 60,000 is "771". Divide those out and one Nano Banana 2 image costs about 78 units on every plan — the number the pricing page never prints, and the one that lets you compare Krea to anything else:

  • Basic: about $0.14 per image billed monthly, $0.08 billed annually.
  • Pro: about $0.14 per image monthly, $0.08 annually.
  • Max: about $0.14 per image monthly, $0.08 annually.

The striking thing is what that table says about upgrading: the per-image rate is essentially flat. A bigger plan buys you more volume, not a better price per image — so choose the tier that matches your monthly output, and don't expect Max to be "cheaper per image" in any meaningful way.

Krea vs Hermosso pricing, like for like

The cleanest comparison is the $9 tier both platforms share. Krea Basic ($9/month): about 64 general-purpose images per month on a pro canvas, with a commercial license. Hermosso Starter ($9/month): 5,000 credits per month — 50 credits = 1 photo — that never expire, across a personal AI model trained on your own face, 67 curated photoshoot packs, and 20 tools including a 22K upscaler, photo restoration and photo-to-video.

Two more comparisons worth knowing before you subscribe. Krea's own model — Krea 2 — is one of the 17 image models inside Hermosso's Create studio, so you can use Krea's engine without a Krea subscription, next to GPT Image 2, Nano Banana 2, FLUX 2 and Seedream 5 Pro. And if you need generation programmatically: Hermosso's Studio plan ($79/month, 60,000 credits) includes the REST API billed from the same credits, while Krea's API is metered separately from its subscriptions. The full feature-by-feature breakdown is in Hermosso vs Krea.

Which Krea plan should you get?

  • Just curious? The free tier is enough to learn the canvas — about one image a day.
  • Occasional image work? Basic at $9/month (or $5 annual) covers roughly 64 images.
  • Generating daily, across image and video? Pro at $35/month is the tier Krea itself flags as most popular.
  • Production volume? Max — but since the per-image rate is flat, only upgrade when you actually run out of units.
  • Photos of real people, product ads, or everyday photo jobs? That's not what a pro canvas is built for — a guided suite gets there faster. Hermosso's plans start at $9/month with 750 free credits to test first, no card required.

The bottom line

Krea's pricing is fair once you decode it: roughly $0.08–$0.14 per image depending on billing period, on a powerful multi-model platform. The gotchas are the annual-first toggle and the units abstraction, not the rates themselves. Decode both, pick the tier that matches your real monthly volume — and if your actual job is photos of yourself, your team or your products, run the same test image through a guided alternative before committing to a year of either.
